We examine how a balcony has changed over the years: its purpose, size, and definition.

The current definition of a balcony, although more accurately described as having a sloping roof, refers to a structure used like a greenhouse. Based on the abundance of trees and potted plants, we can say that the balcony is used for commercial purposes.

If we examine it more closely, we see that this was originally an open terrace balcony, but it was later enclosed. With this enclosure, the homeowner gained extra storage space for their plants and could also use their existing balcony more freely.

The balcony was initially used for hobby plant cultivation, but over the years, both the existing plants grew and new plant species took their place on the balcony. By 2019, the plants on the terrace had spread to neighboring buildings, invading the entire structure. Furthermore, the vines had negatively impacted the paint of the existing building.

Following all these events, the ivy was cut, leaving only potted plants on the terrace, and the damaged surfaces of the building were painted. From this point on, the balcony owner, due to the bond he had formed with plants and finding more effective ways to use the space, either moved his existing stock to the balcony or started growing plants commercially.
